Rabbi David Shelby brings deep spiritual insight from his years of learning in Israel, where he developed a close personal relationship with Hacham Ovadia Yosef, Z"SL. His teaching reflects the warmth and clarity of the great Sephardic tradition. Before joining Shaare Shalom, Rabbi Shelby served at Magen David and Ohel Yaacob synagogues. He delivers the main Shabbat class, the Mussar & Gemara morning shiur, weekday halacha, the Monday Halacha class, and the Wednesday Ein Yaakov class.

Rabbi Moses Haber holds a BA in Psychology and a Master's in Education, in addition to his rabbinic ordination from the Sephardic Rabbinical College. His background combines pastoral sensitivity with structured halachic teaching. Rabbi Haber leads the Tuesday night Tehillim class — Unlocking Deep Insights — bringing a contemporary perspective to one of the most beloved texts in our tradition.

Rabbi Jack Djmal learned at Yeshivat Ateret Torah in Brooklyn and Yeshivat Hevron in Jerusalem. His teaching is known for depth, clarity, and warmth, drawing from both Lithuanian rigor and Sephardic tradition. He leads the Advanced Gemara shiur in Masechet Bava Metzia, the Gemara shiur in Masechet Berachot, and the Halacha class on weekday mornings.

Rabbi Joey Mizrahi

Young Adults Minyan · Torah Education

Rabbi Joey Mizrahi studied for 10 years in Bnei Binyamin Kollel under the guidance of Rabbi David Seruya and Rabbi Louie Sutton.

For 10 years, Rabbi Mizrahi also delivered nightly Torah classes to high school boys, developing a strong passion for teaching and connecting with young students.

He served as a 12th-grade teacher at Yeshivah Magen Avraham under Rabbi Yosef Churba for three years. He currently serves as a fourth-grade Rabbi at Magen David Yeshivah, where he continues to inspire and educate the next generation with a commitment to Torah learning and personal growth.
